Humanity+ Summit: Rise of the Citizen Scientist
In 2010, Kevin Jain and the Harvard College Future Society hosted the H+ Summit at the Harvard University Science Center in partnership with Humanity+.
The 2-Day Summit gathered 50 scientists, researches, and technologists at the top of their respective fields, with topics ranging from the Future of Computation to the Future of Cognitive Neuroscience, from Synthetic Biology to the latest advances in nanotechnology in order to promote cross-dicsiplinary thinking.
Kevin Jain gave a speech on Transhumanism and Education, where he challenged the underlying assumptions in the Educational System as a whole. He advocated a self-study of transhumanist principles, which he himself pioneered at Harvard.
The Cure Is Now is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating acquired, congenital, and developmental diseases. Our cornerstone philosophy is to use a convergence of emerging technologies to combat diseases at the root level. Operational programs include: awareness campaigns, education initiatives, and scientific research. The objective is to eradicate disease as a major health problem by managing programs designed to further scientific development. We need the cures. The time is now. The Cure Is Now.
Kevin Jain is a long-term futurist. He is interested in the long-term survival, enhancement, and evolution of human species with an emphasis on the future of technology and its effect on the human psyche, spirit, and soul. His work considers existential risks, technology forecasting, and is deeply philosophical in nature.
The Harvard College Future Society
In 2009, Kevin Jain founded the Harvard College Future Society, which projects short-mid-long term technological trends and their impact on mankind. He has focused on Moore's Law, Transhumanism, Nanotechnology, 3D Websites, Space Colonization, and 3D/4D Printing, Internet of Things, the Quantified Self Movement, and more.
The Lifeboat Foundation
Futurist Advisory Board
As a result of his work on forecasting technological change and considering its effect on existential risks for the species, Jain was invited to serve on the board of the Lifeboat Foundation, an organization whose mission invovles safeguarding humanity against runaway Artificial Intelligence, Nanotechnology, and other scenarios.
